This was my friend Eric’s birthday cake. It was five layers of cake, alternating lemon chiffon and a vanilla butter cake. Fillings included a homemade blueberry coulis and lemon curd. I was very distraught because the only instructions he gave was for blueberries and buttercream. It’s winter, all the blueberries taste bland. But the coulis saved the cake. By far the best tasting cake i’ve made…Need to work on icing and writing, but for first time with letters ain’t SO bad.

These silly iPhone photos don’t compare to how this marvelous cake tasted!

This was my birthday cake….A rose champagne cake filled with fresh strawberries topped with GINGER buttercream!!!!! The unfrosted sides on the top most cake shows what is also in the bottom layer, except it is three not two layers.
